“This is a wonderful old village pub with excellent food, great service and a larger than life Landlord. We stayed one night here, were made very welcome and enjoyed the great choices of dishes for our evening meal before a roaring log fire. The Whitby Scampi and chips followed by traditional 'Spotted Dick and custard was served very quickly and was delicious. The small bar was busy with locals and folk staying at the pub and it was a very friendly atmosphere. Our room was fairly small but……

“The room was a little dated but it was very clean, the bathroom was clean and in good repair apart from a splurging hot tap but I am not gumbling as I had hot water, it could have been much worse. The room was in the top of the building and it was very quiet. I was attending an annual event and I will be booking this hotel again next year. ”
