“We had a lovely stay at Shepherds Barn, we went for the Goodwood horse races and because of its location, the property was perfect for us. Everything was really clean and in great condition. The surroundings were beautiful. It was great to also have a little kitchen to make our own breakfast in the morning. ”

Only issue was that when we looked up and booked our establishment and room choice, on Expedia’s website, we were offer a buffet Dinner and breakfast on the checkout day. So when we arrived and checked in at reception, we were informed that they do not provide and sort of dinner at all at there establishment. So spent 30 minutes on your virtual chat line talking to an agent, asking why we were mis-sold this half board……

“Die Freundlichkeit des Hotelpersonals sticht am meisten hervor. Jedes Zimmer ist individuell gestaltet. Vor der Haustür befindet sich eine Bushaltestelle. Mit dem Bus erreicht man das Shopping- sowie das Stadtzentrum. Wir empfehlen eine Gruppenfahrkarte für den ganzen Tag (siehe Haltestellenaushang). Im Hotel wird sehr leckeres English Breakfast serviert. Aber es gibt auch Müsli, Obst, Hörnchen sowie Marmelade und Honig. Dafür, dass dieses Hotel keine Sterne hat, bieten Sie Einiges, dass es sich……

“The hotel is a striking and unusual building, very handsome, though we would have appreciated better signs - the rooms in the 400s, which had to be accessed through the library, were difficult to find when first arriving. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the location of the hotel, near the seafront sights (the Mary Rose museum, Nelson's flagship Victory, etc) and the ferry ports. Everything clean and well maintained.”

“Particularly if you're travelling with young kids, make sure if you book a pet-free stay you get pet-free accommodation. Dog hair everywhere in the caravan we stayed in with our 2 & 4 year old, which wasn't ideal, despite having booked pet-free. Caravan was lovely aside from that. ”
