“Highly recommend staying here! It is about 40 minutes away from La Fortuna, but very well worth it. The host offered a night tour through the huge private yard and we say so many frogs and lizards! This was a perfect and quiet relaxing stay after a day of adventure. ”

“This lodge and spa is located in a valley between two mountain ranges at about 5000 feet (compared to Monte Verde 4300 feet) and is considered to be within the range of cloud forest. When we arrived, we were checked in and the host was very nice but failed to give us clear information of how to navigate the privately owned cloud forest with very hilly resort location and four water falls all within the property. “The location at the top of the hill has amazing views of the Central Valley. The accommodations are basic but a welcome bottle of wine, snacks, butter and milk for coffee are nice touches. However, there is no air conditioning and the windows face due east. In the morning, that means bright sun directly into the sleeping space.
