Those of us who enjoy a few more hours of sleep loved the peacefulness of the place. We had everything we could have needed - our hosts thought of it all! The location was wonderful for a visit to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Hilo was only a short drive away and we visited that……

“We were very impressed with everything about Fern Cottage from Matt’s instructions to the property itself. I have stayed in a number of rental properties but I have never seen the thoughtfulness I found here. Kitchen drawers were labeled. Individual heaters in the bedrooms as well as heated mattress pads. A gas stove in the living room to take off the chill. The cottage is close to Volcano village and the park. The property is close to the back of the estate and surrounded by the forest so it is……

“My family stayed here in late May. Communication with the owners/managers prior to coming was excellent and the directions for check in were easy to follow. The house is pretty secluded. You won’t see our hear anyone else. The only sounds are of nature. We enjoyed sitting on the large deck in the evening to listen to the frogs. Every morning the Hawaiian pheasant would visit us while we drank our coffee. The grounds are beautiful with lots on flowers and tropical plants. The outdoor hot tub……

No, this house is filled with a spirit of its own where you can feel the life of all those that have passed through these doors. “We had a fantastic stay at the Rainforest Cottage. The property was extremely clean and very private. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed and there was a large supply of items for use on day excursions (coolers, snorkeling gear, etc). The location was convenient to explore Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and the Hilo area. Thank you Matt for sharing your slice of paradise with us!”

“The views from the Lanai were absolutely gorgeous. Black Pebble Beach was just down the road to enjoy the sunsets and the sound of the ocean. It was about 45 minutes from Kailua Kona. The drive didn’t bother us as we drove all over the Island anyway. It was nice to go back to a peaceful community after a long day. Kitchen was fully stocked, beach towels, beach chairs, and boogie boards. The house did get hot with no air conditioning but we did open windows and doors after coming back and it……

“My wife and I stayed to attend our daughter’s graduation from UH. The location was perfect, close to everything you need. The house was clean with an open concept. Everything you needed for a perfect stay was provided! Great communication with the owner, what more could one ask for. Mahalo!!!”

“This was the perfect house for us. We especially loved the separate bedroom for our son to stay in. It was a fully stocked kitchen and a nice grill so we cooked in every night. The hot tub was great too! Mindi and John are wonderful hosts with top notch communication. The location was perfect for exploring the National Park and surrounding areas.
