“We were on a cycle trip Lands End to John O'Groats, and the hotel was fairly close to the route. We were able to get a meal at night and the breakfast was fine too. Hotel were able to offer safe and secure storage for the bike. The hotel is quite a historic building and could perhaps do with some refurbishment, but it had a nice touch of charm about it and the staff were very friendly. ”
“This is one of the best places we have stayed on our travels. It is an old thatched cottage style pub resplendent with some lovely original features.
Walking in from the car park we loved the wisteria hung entranceway with outdoor tables and chairs.
Our room was spacious with a good sized bathroom. It was clean and comfortable. I must admit if you sleep with the window open the road outside may disturb you but we kept it closed.
We ate in the restaurant on the night of our stay and breakfast……
“What a delightful experience it was to stay at Instow Barton B&B and be hosted by Colin & Caroline. Happy, bubbly and a very friendly reception on our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of there way to make us feel welcome in there home. Very generous size bedroom, large barthoom and cake was in our room everyday!
Breakfast menu was extensive and varied. Quality of food was of a 5 Star standard and presented in a timely and professional manner. I’d go as far as to say that……
“We where down to look at a property nearby we Booked Barton gate farm because it was near to where we needed to be for a few days, the farm is located just on the border of Cornwall and also just outside Holsworthy,
It’s in a ideal location away from the hustle and bustle so peace and quiet, the owner was extremely welcoming and really attentive to your needs, the room we had, room 7 was a really good size and a bed that you will literally melt into,
Continental breakfast is included in your……
“Adorable and quirky little house, oozing with character. Comfy beds, great location for local shops and restaurants, and as a base to explore the area. Only slight negative for us was getting used to town noises as we live in a village. The Combat Collection at Cobatton, and Instow beach (both recommended by the host) are worth a visit, and my boys (16 & 14) loved outdoor laser tag at Survival Combat Games.”
“One night business stay , clean compact, ideal as it’s in centre of town , ideal for food, all with walking distance etc, there is a car park in front of hotel very near, but has time restrictions, didn’t bother me as I was out before 8am
For me breakfast was to late, but the landlady made me a take out as I wanted to be out earlier than they start breakfast , thank you ”
“The settings is stunning but unfortunately the accommodation urgently needs updating. The plates and cups are chipped, the cooker must be 30 years old ,and takes a long time to heat up .The TV must be 19 inch ,the lounge suite sinks in at the back causing sore backs .There is no towel rails to hang your towels. The main bedroom, well the dressing table is a shelf ,there is no shelves just a wardrobe to hang clothes .The duvet is very thin and old and the cover is faded and polyester, horrible. My……
“Lots of positives at this B&B. Very clean, lovely bedding and towels, great shower. Excellent breakfast. Good location.
The room was a little cramped, and unfortunately we never had a view of the golf course.”
