“The property was ideal for our group. The beds were good and comfortable. Everything we needed was present. Our only criticisms were that the front door was difficult to lock and open and the bathroom window could not be locked. These are very minor observations. Before our arrival someone had removed the cover from the boiler. This did not affect its use or performance.”

“The property is spotless and the owner Ryan was great, he kept in contact to make sure everything was ok. The location was ideal for a walk up to the lighthouse to watch the dolphins. Great gin bar just down the road and the Italian restaurant a few doors down at the Roker hotel was excellent.”

“I know it’s new, but everything about this overnight stay was fantastic. Staff… really attentive and helpful. They set my room temperature and asked which room I’d like to stay in. Breakfast… plenty on offer, freshly cooked food, great service. Room… very spacious, clean, had space to sit on an evening, HD television. Location… perfect for the city, it’s in the area which has been developed to support arts and social activities, major change from when I lived here whilst studying. No parking,……

“The leisure centre was great. The swimming pool was clean, although the water could have been just slightly cooler. Happy hour in the bar Sunday to Thursday was a pleasantry, with £3 beers. The hotel is in a great location and close to lots of good value restaurants. Hotel staff were very helpful.”

“A really lovely quiet hotel, there arent many in the area. All very clean, lovely bedroom and superb breakfast with a friendly smile. Checkin was smooth and the lady was really friendly and showed me to my room and also served me a few well poured guinness later that evening. Thank you i will certainly stay again. They didn't serve an evening meal but plenty of options not too far away.”

“Very comfy beds. Clean, light room and friendly staff. Tea and coffee available in the room . The karioke downstairs stopped at 11pm which was fine and we slept well. We could have done with some towel hooks or a rail and a few instructions like how to turn on the radiator and what to do with the key when we left ( we worked those things out in the end !)”

“We stayed in room5 top floor 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and a sofa bed for 1. Bedding and towels were new and fresh. Bathrooms were spotless. Small fridge, kettle , toaster and microwave all look new . Coffee /tea complimentary. TV in lounge . We were visiting family so needed somewhere local and pet friendly. We have stayed at a couple of other places where the Mayfield is and can honestly say this one has been the cleanest and most relaxing stay. Love the short walk to shops restaurants and the……

“Was there for one night for work. Crack in side of bath, kitchen had very basic utensils.the apartment stank of cigarette smoke . Was only there as hotels were shut so wasn't expecting the lap of luxury but it was way below standard for money.”
