“We checked in on 4/22 for a quick anniversary celebration. We enjoyed the fire pit, coffee bar and hot tub during our stay. Our host was wonderful with communication, and doing everything she could to make our experience amazing. It was a peaceful and wonderful experience!”

“My wife and I, along with another couple, loved our stay at Poe's Mountain. The place was very clean, check-in/check out were super easy, and Brian was very responsive. He also provided us with some great info on places to eat (Shawn's BBQ in Culpepper was delicious). We enjoyed sitting on the deck both morning and evening listening and watching the birds. We were even awakened one morning by a male wild turkey gobbling away outside our bedroom window with his female entourage following him. So……

“It is perfectly located for hiking in the Shenandoah ( Old Rag, White Canyon, Brown Mountain, and Bearfence Trails. Also, Charlottesville for urban pleasures as well as both Montpelier (Madison’s home and grounds) and Barboursville Winery (note: this a Euro class winery not a sweet wine winery as experienced in PA, NY, or MD). Ken was most kind in words and help.”

“We stayed three nights in this perfectly appointed cabin near Shenandoah NP. The kitchen was well equipped, the cabin was lovely, located in a beautiful location. We built a nightly fire outside and used the hot tub. There was also a jet tub in the house which we ran out of time to use. The owner was very responsive and friendly. During our first week of a three week vacation, my husband said staying in this cabin was his favorite part.”

“We celebrated our one year anniversary at the Lazy Bear Lodge and it was very relaxing. The wrap-around porch was a great place to enjoy the scenery and the hot tub was refreshing. The cabin was in great condition.”

I wish the indoor pool was open a little later, but the kids were able to get in an hour of swimming before it closed. The cabin was well stocked with all essentials and was clean and cozy! “House was great for my bachelor weekend. My group of nine 27+ adult men, had a no problem sharing the many beds, and were more than comfortable. Only 2 showers was the biggest short coming of the property. The kitchen was more than adequate for the many meals we cooked at the cabin, and the large dinning room table could accommodate our group of nine for meals and board games. The cabin was a short drive from Marys Rock Summit Trailhead in Shenandoah National Park, a nice hike to mix things up……

“Lovely cabin with lots of open space for the kiddos and dog to run and play. Close proximity to Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns. Property was clean and comfortable. Guest bed was not comfortable and sags/slopes in the middle. Master bed very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay.”

We were able to enjoy a long weekend away from the DC area, the views and porch were lovely and the house was perfect for a chill weekend away. It rained one day and we enjoyed listening to records, playing games and putting together a puzzle.”

“Wonderful, very relaxing stay, the hot tub was on point, we did get turned around going into town, and forgot our directions at the cabin, didn't realize no gps until we left the cabin, a little map of the side roads would be wonderful, but we figured it out..... great stay, thank you for the dish detergent and the paper towels, everything we needed was there!!!! “So nowhere did the Hotels ad inform us that this was a whole RESORT. Like 700 acres of resort with an activity schedule and stuff to do everyday! That was a really cool bonus, but the ad made it seem like a small collection of tiny houses, nothing more. So when i areived at midnight, we had our Uber driver drop us, two adults and 3 children under 8, off at the main building. Thank god for Philip with security!!! He helped see the funny side and empathized with me after the major travel struggles……
