“This is a great place to stay. Extremely clean rooms. Comfortable bed and amazing pillows. Excellent breakfast and easy stroll to downtown. Plan to visit again in the future.”

“My wife and I really enjoyed staying in this very clean home walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. We had our two dogs with us and the fenced in back yard was perfect for them. The rear deck with outdoor lighting and the guest cottage are very nice and the home could easily accommodate larger groups and families. The host was attentive and easy to contact. We highly recommend this house.”

“We are building the house at the Albemarle Plantation and it was good to find a shelter right in the neighborhood. It's a beautiful neighborhood with a wonderful golf course and marina. The club house restaurant, the dockside cafe and the pool just a few minutes from this property. The marina for the boaters is nearby. NIce small condo with all necessary amenities. We enjoyed staying there. Thank you to the owners.”

“Really great place to stay to take the day to explore the area. Easy walk to downtown and the waterfront. We found a great place to have dinner in downtown Edenton and have a few drinks and then had just enough time to walk to the waterfront and catch the sunset. We had requested a bottle of wine for our return and were able to take that and watch the traffic go by on the large front porch during the evening. The breakfast the next day was fantastic and we got tips of some boat trips and……

“Our family take two mini vacations a year. This time we decided to do a non-tourist, non event kind of vacation. This property was perfect. The home was very tastefully decorated, and we enjoyed the host's personal art, which could be seen in every room. The layout of the home and the outside lent itself to a "stay home" kind of vacation, yet when someone needed space there was somewhere, inside or outside to go. The outside was absolutely what we needed. Fishing occurred every morning either……

“Great historic property near downtown Edenton. Greeted by inn keeper and shown to our nicely appointed second floor room.Walked to our supper a couple blocks away close to the riverfront. Recommend for couples or single travelers. Excellent breakfast included.”

“The Hen House is perfect for visiting Edenton. Victoria was so great at moving our days so we could stay for the Rockfish festival. Weather was so nice and we always carry folding camp chairs, so we spent a lot of time relaxing on the back deck which had plenty of shade and a beautiful view of the large back yard and fields beyond. Comfy, homey, and convenient!”

“Easy to walk to downtown and a large number of historic properties from this location. The cottage is well kept, clean, and convenient. Accurate description of sleeping arrangements. Only caveat- like most houses of this age, HVAC is an issue. The upstairs bedrooms have on-wall units (not in-wall, on-wall) that blow cold air, and that helps cool, and multiple fans are provided in closets. But it could still most likely get pretty warm in summer, upstairs. Max temp during our stay was……

“The hotel and staff was very good, the room was nice and new. Location was also excellent and the Mexican Restaurant next door was a great option. Our only complaint was we did not know we had to request to have our room cleaned, we were out the entire day and returned to a uncleaned room with no new towels. If we had known we would have at least hung up our towels to use the following day. The night staff provided us with new towels and said its been this way since covid. I think it should……
