“This was a last minute booking and the hotel was very friendly and professional . The room was comfortable and spacious whilst the bar staff were very friendly. We had a bar meal which was a chef’s special - absolutely wonderful. We would certainly come back to this excellent hotel !”

It is a steep walk back up the hill from Pitlochry if you have walking difficulties. We would probably stay again though. ”

“The location was fabulous and the garden was a joy. The house was okay but would have benefited from the owners having been less defensive and having acted upon issues already raised by previous reviewers e.g. the mattresses/pillows were very uncomfortable, the tap in the upstairs toilet is very stiff and difficult to turn on or regulate the temperature, especially cold (even the caretaker couldn't sort out). The old books (inc Masters of Modern Science, 1935 edition! and the complete……

“Smithy Cottage is a perfect place to stay for a small family or group of friends that want to explore Scotland. It is very cozy and comfortable. The location is only a short drive from the A9 and you are able to easily go in any direction to explore. There’s a small shop next door that is great for getting a drink or small snack.
