“The cabin is modern, cozy, and comfortable. We happened to be there on a day that broke heat records for the area and the house remained quite cool. The house was perfect for 4 adults and 1 toddler to relax and recreate together and apart. The river is gorgeous and you really can hear it from almost every part of the cabin. Only advice: bring ice the first day because the fridge icemaker takes about 24 hours to get going. Such a lovely getaway from the concrete jungle!!”

Markleeville has creature comforts, so don't worry if you forget some staple items. Grover Hot Springs is worth a visit and a hike to the waterfalls. The hot springs are fabulous, but reserve 2 days in advance online. Kirkwood is the best ski resort of the bunch, and it's just 35 minutes away.
